Mona looked at the large silver looking building in disgust,thinking if she could just ditch this stupid world of Pokemon she lives in. Sometimes she wished that she lived in a world with cats and dogs.

"I wonder if I just ditch Mom won't find out...naw"

As Mona walked up to the famous Oak lab, she saw the "expected visitors" list. It read Mona.

Ugh, I go by Momo!

She walked through the clean and large double doors.

Professor Maple saw the girl walk in the door, and walked over, looking at her list on her clip board while doing so. She put on her cheery greeting smile and spoke.

" Welcome ... are you here for your starter package? If so what is your name? "

Maple's reassuring smile grew a little bigger as she looked at her list ready to find the girls name on it.

Momo looked the professor right in the face.

"Momo..."

The professor looked and examined her clipboard and gave Mona a blank expression.

"Ugh! Mona but call me Momo...'

The girls attitude took Maple by surprise, but she found her real name on the list and headed towards a far back room as she spoke.

" Ok Mon- ... MoMo ... right this way if you would please! "

Maple lead the new trainer into the back, where a display of PokeBalls and info cards on them were laid out on display.

" Ready to pick your first Pokemon!? "

Momo glared at the professor evilly. Since when can people learn glare?

"Picking a Pokemon would mean i had a choice, which i don't seeing as my Mother is making me get one."

Momo stared down at her shoes looking upset.

Professor Maple is taken back once again by the sour-puss trainer in front of her, but continues on cheerily, not letting it bring her down, and trying to pick up the girls attitude.

" Well, not every one is excited off the bat but I think if you find the right Pokemon your mind can be changed! So why don't you look around and see which one you like over there. "

Momo looked at the choices with her blank expression.

" Who should I choose between Poliwag and Charmander?

All though she tries to stay unbias in terms of Pokemon she gives an answer.

" Well ... both are great but Charmanders are known for being easy to train and are warm to cuddle with so I'd sa- "

Maple stops talking as she sees the girl looks to have her mind made up as implied by her hand up in a hush motion.

Momo looked at the professor.

"So...you like Charmander?"

The professor nods her head yes.

"Then I choose Poliwag. Can I get her with a receipt in case I wanna return?"

Maple smiles hard, forcing it, not wanting to catch an attitude with a student.

" Charming ... and sorry no we don't have receipts as Pokemon are friends, not products! But have fun on your journey and I'm sure you'll grow to love them! "

Maple hands Mona/MoMo a PokeDex and writes down which Pokemon she took before showing the attitude filled girl her way out. As soon as she's gone and the door is shut, she sighs relief and rolls her eyes before going back to work.
