As Dean departs from krissy, he hopes to see any pokemon that can give a good battle. He notices the detour gets rougher and rougher as he proceeds, then begins to wonder why there would be a detour path. It doesnt look like a shortcut, and it looks even more dangerous as he continued. This didnt look like that great of an idea as it did when he first departed. He just kept walking down the path, and tried hopping over fallen trees and ducking under low thorned branches. About an hour of exploring this grueling path, he tthought he should just turn back. But the thought of what this path could lead to was just killing him to find out. That, and he didnt want to turn back anyway, because the path was already to harsh. He sighed and continued on. The path seemed to like it was coming to an end, as he saw something blue and sparkling on the horizon past the trees. Icy, his seel, which was still on his back, began to clap over his shoulders, and dean had to guess that it was water. It was probably a little lake that became abandoned do to an organazation's meddling or something. Maybe the once famous silph co. dumped something in it, causing people to avoid visiting it, and caused pokemon to leave. well, at any rate, the path was closed down and the lake seemed to clear up. Dean thought he would explore alittle bit more as he walked up to the edge of the small lake. He set down Icy, and the seel looked at his reflection in the water, amused. He looked around. Nothing unusual.
"Hey Icy, lets go, there doesnt seem to be anything here. It was probably something like a tourist atraction or a training area. Whatever it was, its gone now."Icy looked up at Dean, beggingly.
"No, Icy, we need to go now. Im not even sure if we can be here unpermitted. Lets go!"Icy looked down in defeat, and started to follow dean to the trail they came down on. He slid on the grass, but Bushes started to rustle on the surrounding enviorment. They haulted immediately. Dean was worried. The idea of fighting another pokemon didnt seem to nice at this moment. A loud Hiss came from the bushes. An ekans perhaps? It hissed again. No, this his had a distincted difference than the cry of an ekans. Dean was even more startled when the hiss got even closer. The rustling got louder. The moment was intense, and then... silence. Dean "phewed" and took a step forward.
"Hurry Icy, lets go before something ha-"A quick purple furry blur dashed out of the bushes and made contact with Seel, sending him flying backwards. Icy flailed and rolled across the grass like a rag doll that was hit by a small compact truck. The helpless pokemon slowly rolled to a stop, a good 10 feet away from the contact point. Icy slowly stumbled up, Dean astonished by Icy still being conscious from the unexpected blow. But another blow like that would be the end of that accomplishment. Dean fell back as he saw the small purple rat predator poised ready for a battle. Dean quickly whipped out his Dex and aimed it at the furry rat.
Will chew on anything with its fangs. If you see one, it is certain that 40 more live in the area. Dean put away the dex and looked over at Icy.
"Icy are you okay!? Thats a rattatta! There is more likely than one of them in the area, so we need to take it out quickly! Are you able to take on another battle?"Icy stumbled up and nodded, then poised, ready to battle the little rat pokemon, rattatta. Icy was determined to win against his opponent. but he had to finish it quickly, or they might be in for a real dillema. Icy waited for Deans command to attack on cue. afterall, a pokemons batlle tecnique is only as good as his bond with the trainer. Dean thought on his feet, and commanded to attack quickly and swiftly. Dean pointed and yelled the first command.
"Hurry Icy! Quickly, use headbutt!!!"Icy charged towards rattatta and went for a headbutt! The rattatta dashed low on the ground and lunged upward. He quick attacked at seel upward, uppercutting seel and flipping icy in the air before he slammed on the ground. The rattatta landed behind icy, and turned around, before lunging again at icy!
"No! physical attacks wont do good against it, we will have to do far range attacks! Use icy wind!"icy quickly recovered and stood on its tail, bending backwards and releasing a cool, strong breeze out of its mouth straight at the lunging rat. The chilling breeze caught the rattatta in its current and blew it back, shoving the small fur ball into the ground. The attack prevailed!
"Nice one! try it again!"Dean, now alittle cocky, commanded it again, and icy once again followed the order. He breathed the chilling wind once more, but didnt get the same results! The rattatta looked up and endured the chilling wind, and squirted a purple, foul smelling stream of poison directly into icys mouth. Icy scoffed and choked, and dropped, hurt from the lethal poison!The rattatta used toxic on icy, and directly hit. Dean knew this could mean thee end of the battle within another attack or two.
"ICY!"Dean panicked! the rattatta, still savage, lunged once more, and knocked icy far back, and into the small lake, helplessly. there was silence. Dean dropped to his knees, and tears fell on the ground below him.
"Im... sorry.... i shouldve been...more careful..."Dean sobbed helplessly, and the rattatta looked at dean. It was his turn. He didnt care, just continued sobbing. the rattatta hissed and showed its teeth, then lunged straight for Dean!
Just as it was thought to be too late, something incredible happened! Icy Dove out of the water into the air, and spun in multiple flips! Icy flipped straight at rattatta, and slammed his tail into the rattatta, sending him crashing into the ground! Icy landed and turned around, and blew a chilling breeze at rattatta, sending him flying into the water! Icy looked great, and by the looks of it, wasnt poisoned anymore! Dean Smiled ear to ear, and hugged the once again energetic seel. Dean wiped his tears and looked down at Icy, ecstaticly.
"Icy,How did you survive?! Its like the water hydrated you back to health! OH! Hydration! In school, we've learned about abilities that pokemon had! that must be yours! the water rid you of your poison! your saved!!! But... now isnt thee time to celebrate. wehave to get out!"Icy and Dean looked around, and heard hissing from all directions. There was no way Icy coulld take them all! Dean slung Icy around his shoulder, and took off towards the path they first took, and didnt looke back. the two could hear the pitter patter of at least a dozen rattatta's behind them! There was no way they could outrun them! The rattattas were just on the tail when Icy slammed a tree while they were running, causing it to topple over, and blocking the rattattas path, and the path to the lake. Dean smiled over his sshoulders as he dashed through the path. He was tired, but just kept running. by the time they hit the main route, they were safe, but exhausted. They slowly walked to viridian, knowing theyve triumphed in victory once again. They entered the town, which was actually pretty small. Dean looked around, hoping to sight krissy. The gym was closed. he asked around, and went to the small contest hall in viridian. Dean saw krissy walk out of the contest hall, and ran up to her, tired and weak.
"oh... Hey krissy! how'd it go?"
